release number 053 sees zero t return with his irish soul brother steo and their first ever full collaboration release, tracks include cant hide the title track and unofficial cousin of last years little pieces and make time two truly stunning and timeless soul beauties. we also see an appearance from monty with his intricate rework of the duos much loved too close to see bringing his unique and hypnotizing edge to the imprint for the first time.
the shanklin sessions came out of the shanklin road studio that andy sims shared with one of his partners from soft rocks, bobby coulman. acid jan started its life as a jan hammer edit that andy was doing for one of soft rocks disco powerplay releases. there were a few parts that never made the final cut, but were too good to leave, so andy got friend jaime read in to jam with the left over bits, and from that acid jan was born (none of the jans original parts made it to this finished re-incarnation). acid jan found it s way onto cynic label boss felixs usb and subsequently was played at every festival/club that felix played for about a year. when andy heard felix playing it at alfresco festival in 2016, they decided to release it on cynic. in search of a b side for the release, andy dug out the other dat s from the session acid jan was recorded at, and found sitars over shanklin, a suitably oddball track to grace the other side. a little piece of chicago via india recorded in brighton.
mahoneys voice vacillates smoothly between ghostly and falsetto, while mcnanys arrangements and instrumentation bump, click, and whirr like a lovingly tuned rube goldberg jukebox. not too surprising, perhaps, considering they named the band after a song by schizophrenic outsider favorite daniel johnston, and they cite harry nilsson and roxy music as influences. incl. prins thomas remix!! ltd edition sampler for the first a man called adam album since 1998 - rekindling that balearic, emotional, pop-not-pop feel they re famous for, with remixes from norwegian golden boy prins thomas & brazils very own, carrott green alongside a dub mix from a man called adam.
marlow and his partner rainer trüby came up with a lush, deep house stomper featuring a little vocal shred we all think we know. limited to 200 copies!!
the fifth release from the bunte kuh label is another winner: it comes from bardia salour and features three fresh originals with a remix from peter schumann. it s also set to be available on vinyl release too. salour is a german artist who runs his own esteemed events in hamburg and has played all over europe from watergate in berlin to culture box in copenhagen. his dub infused style is utterly distinctive and these new cuts prove that once more. north scapes opens up with a molten, acid tinged bassline. as it grows more wild there are icy hi hat loops layered in with some big piano chords to finish it in style and mean the floor will really go wild. liquid lava is more direct, with hard hitting techno kicks and deft synth sounds colouring in the grooves. then comes the excellent urban signals, a dramatic, dubbier cut with cavernous bottom ends and subtle, supple synths layering in warmth and atmosphere. last of all, peter schumann s lsd25 restyle of north scapes pairs it back to a warm, bubbly warm up house tune that will get you moving with its sonar blips and nice, deep cut and churning drums. all four of these tracks are fresh and classy efforts sure to make their mark.
the second release on oflynn s hundred flowers label comes from up and coming artist soundbwoy killah - and follows on from his sold-out releases on sneaker social club and warehouse rave. the a-side burning was a highlight of mall grabs most recent boiler room and is a straight up breaks banger destined for dancefloors. whilst the b side moving on takes on the same formula, in that it too is a stone cold banger.

club of jacks have been previously spotted on labels like plastik people and blockhead, which should give you an idea of where their sound is pitched. this is classic house with a distinctive uk slant - the beats are up front and the bass is mighty strong. the subs on -alright- just can t be beaten, not least when peppered with other sound system garnishes that keep things ruff and tuff. -raw like 94- makes great use of a lisa stansfield sample for lyrical input, but once again the emphasis is on the weighty production. it s a sound that carries through the b side too, providing you with four highly workable jams for the peak of the night
the 1995 queen album is back - half speed mastered and pressed on 180 gram heavyweight double vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve. incl you dont fool me !
after noticed releases and sold out references for the first two, n&b innovates with this various at the edge of the house, between balearic, deep and nu-disco. eager to mix styles and influences by inviting long-time favorites and close entourage, its now done. joining the canadian roberto s, a vision of panorama from st. petersburg and the french léon revol and too smooth christ. without forgetting folamour and tell, respectively composers of the first and third opus of the label who reoffend so.
